Physiotherapy treatment at Valeo Physiotherapy encompass a wide range of treatment techniques, primarily manual therapy, functional dry needling and exercise based rehabilitation to help guide rehab for both acute and chronic injuries. Concussion Management
Valeo Physiotherapy is the only Complete Concussion Management Inc (CCMI) clinic in Milton. The practitioners at Valeo are well prepared and experienced to help guide you through your concussion rehabilitation. Certified Practitioners are required to participate in monthly research reviews in order to stay up to date with the most current research on concussion rehabilitation, making CCMI the most comprehensive and research supported concussion program available.
As partnered CCMI practitioners, we collaborate with primary care physicians to co-manage concussions, helping patients and athletes safely return to learn, work and play.

Massage Therapy
Massage Therapist work with a variety of patients to help treat both acute and chronic injuries. We are committed to providing the very best in one-on-one patient care. Massage therapy utilizes knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology, combined with Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy, myofascial techniques, and low grade joint mobilization. Massage sessions have therapeutic effect on the body and improves the health and wellbeing of the individual, as it can help enhance circulation, improve posture and promote the healing process of muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. Cupping - Massage Therapist
The Cupping Therapy technique involve parking (stationary) or gliding cups on the body. Cupping forms a supportive environment for healing and nutrient exchange in the body. The suction generates a vacuum and negative tension pressure ideal for tissue lift and separation. This can help create mobility in fascial tissue, release trigger points, mobilize fluid, decrease pain, increase blood flow to sedentary tissue, support the lymphatic system, eases restrictions in the thoracic cage, reducing joint discomfort, etc. This therapy has shows to also affect the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and stress management.
Conditions that can benefit from cupping therapy include, arthritis, fascial restrictions, general muscle pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, asthma and more.
The Cupping Therapy cups that are used is Silicone (baguanfa), which are soft, pliable, transparent and easy to clean. Since these cups are more flexible, they are more adaptable to various elements of the body (considering hair or irregular bony surfaces). Allowing it to be more accessible to all clients' overall body regions and excel providing treatment to areas that are typically difficult to treat.
The techniques used in treatment is dry (cups placed on the body with no oil), flash (quick, continuous application and rapid release of cups on the body), and Massage/Gliding (moving cups over the body: either involving gliding cups on the skin with oil for more deep therapeutic effects, moving cups to create a fascial release, and dynamic gliding applied to body while using passive and active range of motion to the tissues and joints).
Facial cupping is also provided to aid in sinus congestion, TMJ, fascial and cervical generated headaches.

Acupuncture - TCMP
At Valeo Physiotherapy, we provide acupuncture, herbal medicine, Moxibustion, heated cupping, Tui Na Massage, and Dietary and lifestyle prescriptions, with a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Registered Acupuncturist. This treatment is aimed at alleviating pain, enhancing energy levels, and promoting overall well-being. Our comprehensive approach addresses various conditions, with particular attention given to sports injuries, pain management, internal disorders, stress/anxiety issues, sleep disorders, and cosmetic acupuncture. Your appointment is one on one, and dedicated at providing a thorough assessments, treatments and recommendations tailored to help you achieve your wellness goal.
Chinese Herbal Medicine - TCMP
Chinese herbal medicine offers a wide range of health benefits and support for various conditions. It effectively treats specific health conditions by addressing digestive disorders, respiratory and cardiovascular issues, hormonal imbalances, skin conditions, and musculoskeletal problems. Herbal remedies can boosts immune function, support digestion, and support the reproductive systems, manages stress and anxiety, and promotes anti-aging. Following a thorough assessment, a personalized herbal prescription will be provided, along with education and support from your Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner.
Pilates
We offer one-on-one Reformer and Mat Pilates sessions with an experienced Physiotherapist, whom is also a Pilates instructor. The Pilates Method exercises are focused on whole body strengthening and stretching, with a big emphasis on activating and working the core muscles. In this Method, we connect body and mind through concentration and breathing, while developing body awareness and improving your posture and spine alignment.
You will be guided through the sessions by a Registered Physiotherapist who will develop a customized Pilates plan based on your individual needs. Please be aware that this is not billable to an insurance provider under Physiotherapy Services. This is a Pilates Session and is billed as a Pilates Session
